The Last Jedi dome projection
About the project
I did the animation for the premiere of Star Wars Episode 8 - The Last Jedi at the Colosseum cinema. Colosseum 1 is the largest movie theatre in Oslo, in fact the biggest THX cinema in the world, and they wanted some exclusive Star Wars content for the premiere. I animated a lot of different action scenes; an armada entering, ships in dogfight, shuttles and craft landing and taking off, and some massive starcruisers passing overhead.
Shortcut Oslo added sound to my animations and the final 5 minute segment was projected in the huge cinema dome before each screening. The end result was stunning, sitting there you felt like being in the middle of an epic space battle (and the above promo video obviously fails to show the immensity of it all!).
