I was contacted spring 2008 by a young video game company called ablemagic, who wanted a sixty seconds long teaser-trailer to present a game project they were working on. I've been looking for opportunities to do imagery in a more fantasy setting, so I eagerly accepted. Apart from the character design, I did all the imagery in the teaser. I was responsible for everything from doing animatics and animation to models and rendering.
This was a huge undertaking for one person, but since I've been playing with the idea of animating my own short films, I used the project as a springboard to develop tools and a workflow for future animation projects. I spent a full month leading up to the project scripting a character animation rig in 3ds Max that made it possible for me to rig and animate characters very quickly. The film itself took three months to do, and is the biggest solo project I have done so far.
I cannot say that much about the game itself at the moment, as it is still in progress. But I have permission to show some still images from the teaser I did.
